Non-technical testing for torsional rigidity before/after braces is easy. I've had them on all my sporty street cars and all my race cars - ITS & GT3 RX-7s (the latter was a tub and closer to today's Prod class). ![]() Strut braces are eye candy, but they do serve a function - more so on some cars than others. This serves to eliminate (or more realistically, reduce) one of the variables in suspension tuning. In a best-case scenario it will keep chassis flex from altering the suspension geometry as dynamic cornering forces are applied. ![]() ![]() Regardless, a strut brace will increase torsional rigidity to some degree in the WRX/Sti.Ī strut brace will not cause understeer, per se. The WRX/STi front struts are in close proximity to the firewall, and in this application a front strut tower brace will likely have less effect than on vehicles where the strut tops are located further from the firewall. ![]()
